get on with your life

Ahem. It may be no secret that I have been experiencing a bit of a struggle these last few days as I have desperately tried to cope with my best friend moving back to Rexburg, and with the idea that I won't be in school for another 3 1/2 months. I've known that this was coming, but I honestly didn't expect it to be as hard as it has been. I have turned to my Heavenly Father to help me through--He has never let me down. And He definitely has comforted and strengthened me. Last night before bed He led me to this talk entitled Get on with your life.

Yeah, you could say it was a little slap in the face and a moment of "oh c'mon Am, get ahold of yourself." It was very very good for me.

And I decided that I was going to take it to heart and for heaven sakes, get on with my life! I had an AMAZING first semester of school, and I have fought the change to come back home. Fighting change is not going to change anything silly! So I'm wiping my eyes, putting on my big girl panties and dealing with it.

So today I got out of bed at 7:00am to eat breakfast with my family, took my Jr. High aged siblings to school, had a wonderful spontaneous visit with Sister Erica Brown, came home and started my laundry, had a really great scripture study (read Hebrews 11, it will completely empower you), wrote in my journal, did vocal warm ups for a half hour (still need to find a teacher for the winter), cleaned my bedroom, and switched my laundry. And do you know what? I feel a heck of a lot better. I feel accomplished. It is only 10:22 my friends, and look at this list of achievements for the day. In 40 minutes I am going to the temple, and I have a nice list to get me through the rest of the day including scuba lessons. :)

It's time to get going, to get moving, to get on with my life.

Change is good kids.

Love,
Am
