gettin in touch with my musical side

Since I've been home for the winter, I'm ashamed to admit that I have not kept up with my music like I should have. I had plans to get AP music worksheets to keep up on my theory and find ways to dictate and all of that, and I was going to start voice lessons again WEEKS ago. Unfortunately, I've been a lot busier than I anticipated and those things have become a little bit on the back burner.

But thankfully, that changed today--I started voice again. Ahhhhh. One half hour lesson and I was quickly reminded "oh yeah, I LOVE this stuff!" My teacher is adorable, I'm so glad I found her, and she lives right by my Provo job, so on lesson day I can just clock out early and head over there. It all worked out so perfectly. I am really just thrilled to be jumping back in again, I'm proud of myself for being proactive so that I don't lose what I have worked for, and so that I can progress before next semester. My voice class is not going to be my only B+ this time! Nope, it will be an A for sure.

Sometimes I think that I don't make a big enough deal of my love for music. It's not just something that I do, it's who I am and who I want to be. This past semester of studying it made that all the more clear to me. Music is incredible. The more I learn about it, the more I realize how much more there is to learn. It goes so much deeper than most people realize. I think that that is what makes music so incredibly powerful.

Oh hooray, hooray for voice lessons.

Love,
Am
