a post about my daddy

I have a memory of laying on my dad's chest when I was a teeny little girl and watching the fox and the hound. I think I cried at the end when the best friend's got separated. My dad tells me that I would watch that movie with him and then say "Daddy, you're my beeeeest friend."

Now I'm all grown up, I don't live at home, I've made lots and lots of friends, many of them I've professed to be my "best" friends, and they've come and gone. But through all the years, my daddy has ALWAYS been there for me.

My dad is amazing. There are SO many things that I love about him. He's so smart. He's a computer engineer, and he pretty much just does it all at his company. He's completely indispensible because he's such a hard worker and he knows exactly what he's doing. Over the last 4 years I've been able to work at his company off and on and it's been such a great experience. I love seeing him in the workplace. When people find out that I am Kevin's daughter there's this knowing "oh..." because they look up to him so much. Whenever I had a question about anything I would just call him and he would come and show me how to test some boards or print some labels for the backplates. My dad is actually in London for work today, he'll be there for like 3 weeks because he's the best guy for the job.

My dad loves to travel and he loves to take us places. I've had so many opportunites to see the world because of him. Traveling with my dad is so great. He always plans things out so that we have the most fun. I also feel so safe when I travel with him, and we've been in some pretty intense situations, especially in Jamaica. But no matter what was going on, I knew that my dad would never let anything bad happen to us and he would keep us safe.

My dad holds the priesthood and is always available when I need a blessing. Dad's blessings are amazing and specific and awesome. He's so in tune with the spirit and he always tells me exactly what I need to hear. I've gotten blessings from FHE brothers, friends and cousins up at school and they are always wonderful, but getting a blessing from my dad is so much better because of the stewardship he has for me. I'm so grateful that my dad honor's his priesthood and takes it seriously.

My dad is really supportive of everything I do and he wants the best for me. He pretends to be excited about things I know he doesn't care about because it matters to me. :) He supports me in school and helps me out so I can go to school. He makes sure that I know how important it is to get my education.

I love my dad so much. I love both of my parents. They have raised me so well, even when I've been a total stinker. I am so lucky to be able to call them my parents forever.

Happy father's day daddy! You'll always be my best friend.
