i bet you think i forgot to finish my church history post...

I don't know why this post has been such a long ordeal. My computer has been hating me for uploading so many pictures. But it's finally here. Enjoy. And Cammie, read all the words.

On Saturday morning we woke up bright and early after only experiencing 5 hours in a bed and made our way to Carthage.

Ashley and I both really enjoyed Carthage, and especially loved being there together. :)

The window the Joseph Smith jumped out of when he was murdered.
The bullet hole in the original door from the shot that killed Hyrum.
Ashley and I are so cute that there was a girl who asked if she could take our picture. We really love each other.
We brought bread and peanut butter and jelly so that we wouldn't have to buy as many meals. Our bread got smashed.
Ashley and I in front of the Nauvoo Hotel which is now owned by the Community of Christ.
We were so sleep deprived by this point, it had been three days since we started this adventure and we had only slept for about 6 hours. I looked over at Ashley during a tour and she was sleeping standing up.
We visited the Tribute to Women monument outside of the Nauvoo visitors center and all I took pictures of was this butterfly. I took about 50 pictures of it. I'll spare you.
I bought some horehound at the Red Brick Store.
So many amazing things happened in this building.
I am descended from the Joseph Knight family, they were instrumental in the early years of the Church. I had a great time learning about that family and finding signs for Newel Knight.
Ashley bought some really legit rootbeer.
I busted open this walnut with my bare hands. I had a stain for a week.
We walked all around Nauvoo and visited the cute couples missionaries. They really liked us and even let us behind the ropes to take pictures with John Taylor's legitimate original artifacts.
One of my favorite experiences was getting to do baptisms in the Nauvoo Temple. The Temple President talked to us and shared some amazing experiences and the Temple Matron talked to my friend Jenny and I and showed us some original paintings and artifacts. It was such a neat experience.

Having Ashley on this trip was seriously the best thing that's ever happened to me.
We really loved the "Rendezvous" show that the missionaries put on. It was adorable.

Ashley and I LOVED our HUGE room at the Nauvoo Family Inn. We each had our own queen sized bed. The hotel gave us the yummiest meals that I've ever had. I still crave the bacon.

I didn't take any pictures on Sunday or Monday. Mostly those days were spent on the bus. I got really sick with a migraine on Sunday and had a blessing in Winter Quarters. On Monday we miraculously ended up in Martin's Cove where the weather was horrible but we prayed the rain away. We made it back to Rexburg at about 6:45 Monday evening, just in time for FHE.

This trip was one of the best experiences of my entire life. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to go see all of these amazing places. I had so much fun and my testimony grew exponentially.

I hope you enjoyed my big fat Church History Post. :)
