Here it is my friends, the big fat post about my Church History Tour:
My best fran Ashley joined me on this adventure which was unbelievably fun. I love this girl and I can't wait to live with her again when we are both at Provo (remember how I'm officially a cougar? Aw yeah!).
Our first stop after spending 23 hours on a bus was Independence Missouri where we toured all of the Community of Christ sites.
I wasn't too fond of this religion or the buildings and was glad when we moved on to other things.
It was also very cold that morning in Missouri and we weren't very well prepared.
We got to see the Whitney store and other historical and religious sites, but again, I didn't feel much when I was there.
So we entertained ourselves by becoming trendsetters and taking fun pictures.
Our next stop was Liberty Jail where I was relieved to find an abundance of the spirit and the fire of testimony burning strong.
Although I cried as I learned about the horrible things that happened here, there was a sacredness and sweetness about the spirit as we reflected on the refining situation that the Saints found themselves in at this time.
Next on the agenda was Far West, where the wind was ferocious and the spirit was strong.
We spent about two hours in Adam-Ondi-Ahman, revelling in the sacredness of this ground.
Although we did take some silly pictures.
As well as some artistic ones.
We enjoyed a stunning sunset to send us on our way.
So here you have days one and two. Thursday of my trip doesn't really count because it was 24 straight hours on a bus. Keep looking forward to the next installment of this post that's taken over my life. :)
