There's something really satisfying about being assigned to arrange a primary hymn
And struggling
And struggling
And getting a little bit
And struggling some more
And some more
And not being able to figure out how the stupid German Augmented 6th chord fits in
And scribbling on manuscript paper
And getting frustrated...

And then suddenly, lightbulb. The answer is right there, staring you in the face.
And BAM! You modulate the crap out of that piece.
And then all you have to do is fill in the second verse.

So satisfying.

Isn't that how it is in life sometimes?
You get asked to do something
And you struggle and struggle
And you get frustrated
And you try to figure it out on your own
And you have to ask for help
And leave it alone for a while
But then eventually, BAM. Then answer is there, staring you in the face.
And you are able to move forward,
Maybe in a different direction than you were going before.

It's funny how Heavenly Father teaches us isn't it?
