In life, there are times of great joy and times of serious struggle. Sometimes it feels like everything is going your way.
Example.
I talked to a counselor on Friday about transferring to BYU Provo in January (please note, this is NOT an announcement in any way, it's just something I've been considering. I don't actually know if I'll be transferring yet). She said that it really would be better to wait til I have my associates degree before I transfer or else it will basically be like I was starting from scratch. I felt so disheartened when she said that. Then she looked over my degree audit and said "actually, we might be able to get you out of here with your associates because of all your AP credit." She took her little highlighter to the page and found that if I take a couple classes online this summer and put my music classes on hold, I can have my degree completed by next fall and transfer wtih an associates degree.
I know right? I was freaking out. You seriously don't even understand how excited I got. I don't know if it will end up happening, but it just gave me some direction and something to look toward and start moving on. I've realized that Heavenly Father can only guide my life if I'm actually moving and this gave me a direction to go.
This experience of everything going right strengthened my testimony of God's presence and love for His children.
Then I had some things not go so well, nothing all that big but enough to kind of knock the wind out of me you know? And during that time of not feeling good and feeling alone, Heavenly Father directed my neighbor into my path, a neighbor who I've really grown to love. And because of the love I felt for her I invited her over to our place to watch a movie and we all ended up staying up WAY late talking and talking. And it was exactly what I needed to feel better and we found out that it helped her feel better about some things in her life too.
This experience of everything going WRONG strengthened my testimony of God's presence and love for His children as well.
Isn't a wonderful feeling to have a knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father?
